Neil stood in his kitchen, his hand gripping the phone as he stared at it. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do. All he knew was that every moment of inaction made it seem like he was wasting time, when he should have been doing something.

He was naked, his cock hard and pulsing, expecting to hear a time and a location… the when and where he was supposed to meet his wife so they could have some fun in the back of her new minivan.

She’d done it two weeks in a row, waking him up near the time she was to get off work, telling him where she would be, and that he needed to be there if he expected anything from her that evening. It all seemed so silly at first, since she could have more easily just come home and jumped him like she usually did on the day of the week she worked whenever he was on third shift. But this recent change was an exciting one, even if he didn’t totally grasp all the reasons behind it at first.

“Did she really just hang up on me?” he wondered, thinking about the abrupt end to the call he’d taken from her.

He actually thought he had figured it all out. She was calling up for random sex, doing it in the back of the van, in random locations. While he was puzzled at first, he looked for clues and hints, knowing she’d likely offer some.

The first was that it was only on the days she worked. That was significant if for no other reason than they already had someone lined up to watch Owen while they had a little fun. The second was the way she was interacting. It was cold and impersonal, the act itself more important than the fact that they were getting together. It was that realization that led him to believe they were playing a game. She never kissed him, or said his name. Hell, she only talked on the phone when she called to tell him where to be, and when they were finished, when she basically ordered him to leave.

Then there was the way she came home. The first time, she showed up a little later than normal, but went to pick up their son next door as usual. What was out of character was her quick dash to the bathroom to shower. Then next week, she called him after they hooked up, and she told him she’d be late coming home. She faked an argument and showed up even later, but not dressed in the sexy outfit she likely wore to work.

But the thing that convinced him he was on to something was a comment Felicia made after the imaginary fight he and Ann had on the phone; a swift argument that felt more real than not. He’d been lamenting the fact that he didn’t seem on the same page as his wife. She told him not to fret about it. And then she said something about being their West Virginia mother.

That last comment returned to him the night before at work, as he anticipated Ann might be calling again the next afternoon. He knew Felicia was referring to Ann more than him, knowing how his wife looked up to her. While her lifestyle when it came to sex crossed a line that Ann never would, she still admired the person Felicia was, and the friendship they shared.

He kept thinking of her phrasing; the fact that she called herself not a surrogate mother, or a substitute. She was specific as with regard to a region… namely where they lived. It immediately brought Alfred and Billie to mind. They were an incredible couple that Ann had come to know while she lived out west, and she’d often referred to them as her California parents.

Felicia’s comment didn’t mean anything at first. Not until he really thought about his interactions with the Davidsons. The first one that came to mind was the night he met Billie, at Ann’s going away party. He’d met Alfred earlier that day. Like his father-in-law, Alfred worked at the post office, and Neil had stopped by a half dozen times to mail off things to Ann’s parent’s house. He found him a lot like Marlin; friendly and outgoing, with a self-deprecating sense of humor.

Billie was full of life, and she had a hint of mischief behind her eyes. She was also very attractive, the two of them making a striking couple. It was during the party that Billie allowed her doting husband to share a tale he’d never been allowed to tell before. One where his wife had been the star of a month long ‘affair’ she had. It just happened that the man she was having sex with was her husband, who was working a different postal route for an injured co-worker… a route that included his own home.

It turned out that Billie had tired of Alfred’s stories of how bored housewives would sometimes try to seduce him; in some cases, going so far as to entice him by answering the door naked. Her husband always told her what happened, insisting that he never acted on it, other than to come home and fuck his wife harder than usual. But it was that revelation that gave her an idea.

She took on the role of the housewife that wanted more than just her mail delivered. Having heard his stories so many times, she channeled them, becoming one escort eryaman of the women that aggressively pursued the local mail carrier. And in her case, she didn’t take no for an answer. It was some of the best sex of their lives, and it was their indoctrination to role-playing. It was that love of becoming someone else that Billie eventually shared with Ann during some of their many long talks about sex.

Putting all of that together, Neil felt certain that Ann was doing something along those lines. It certainly felt like it, until she hung up on him. Now he wondered if he’d been wrong all along.

Hanging up the phone, he made his way back to the bedroom, flopping onto the mattress. There was no way he was going back to sleep. He was too worked up in so many different ways. At that point he was considering taking a cold shower just so he could get his hard-on to go down.

When the phone rang again ten minutes later, he sat up in a panic. It took until the second ring for him to realize he had to move to answer it, but he was scared to. Realizing he could plug in the phone next to the bed to answer, he took a deep breath.

“Hello?” he said nervously.

Her soft voice seemed louder, a panic coming through the receiver. “This is my fault, Neil!”

“Felicia?”

“Ann’s freaking out right now. But I want you to know I was the one that put her up to it. So if you have to blame anyone, blame me.”

“Blame? What the hell are you talking about? Why would I blame you for anything? I don’t even know what’s going on!”

“Yes you do. You’re too smart not to have gotten it by now. I just can’t believe I wasn’t more sensitive about it. About… you?”

“Felicia, I have to be honest. I have no fucking clue what you’re talking about right now. Why in the world is Ann freaking out? And what did you put her up to?”

“Pretending to be… me,” she sighed.

“Huh?”

“We were talking a couple of weeks ago about how she hated you being on third shift.”

“That’s nothing new, Felicia. She’s hated that since I started working at Armada.”

“True. But we were talking specifically about how she just got this new van, and she wanted to… well, you know. Anyway, she was trying to come up with an idea for what she could do, and I playfully suggested she could always do what I do.”

“What’s that?”

“I screw around on my husband, Neil. You know that.”

“Yeah, I know that. I’m still not following you.”

“Sure you are. You just need to step back and see the whole picture. Ann wanted to do something daring, like she always does. You know… make a whole production out of it for you. That’s who she is. That’s what she does. And I said she should pretend she was me.”

“Well that doesn’t make any sense. Jason knows what you do. He even approves of it.”

“Yeah. And that’s where things got squirrelly. Ann didn’t want to tell you what she was up to, because she never likes to spoil the surprise. And she didn’t think there was a way to make it happen without telling you. And that’s when I brought up a story she told me about your friend Billie, in California.”

Neil let out a chuckle, realizing he’d been right. “Okay, this is starting to make more sense now. I actually figured that out yesterday. So what’s the problem? Why’s Ann freaking out?”

“The premise,” she said candidly.

“Okay, now I’m not following again. What do you mean by that?”

“From what Ann told me, Billie had pretended to cheat on her husband, because he was always getting enticed to fuck women on his mail route on the side.”

“Yeah, I know. I heard the story firsthand. What does that have to do –“

“Ann’s freaking out, because she’s pretending to do the same thing.”

“I know. I got that too. What I don’t understand is why she’s suddenly freaking out about it?”

“Because, sweetie… your ex-wife actually did that to you. Ann’s upset with herself for creating a scenario that might remind you of that. One that might make you think that’s what she wants… like it’s some kind of fantasy for her. But it’s not. I put her up to it. We were kidding around, and I said something stupid, like she shouldn’t knock it if she hadn’t tried it, you know. But we weren’t thinking about what you went through. What I do, Jason knows about. That’s what makes it different. But what Ann is doing is more what Billie had done.”

“Well, yeah. But Billie never fucked around on Alfred. And Alfred never fucked any of the women on his route. He got propositioned all the time, and if I remember, he might have felt a few of them up. But it was all pretty tame.”

“That doesn’t change the fact that Ann is pretending to screw around on you, Neil. She’s really upset with herself right now. And a little bit with me for pushing her.”

“Felicia, this is just a game… I know she’d never actually do it. To be honest, it’s been really hot. She hung up on me fifteen minutes ago, and I’m still hard right now. That ought to tell you something.”

“It elvankent escort tells me you’re a stud, but I already knew that. We’re still where we are though. Because this is one of those things she set up without telling you, and she’s been making you suffer at home after she fucks you, it –“

“Suffer? What do you mean by that?”

“You know. The way she acted the last time, coming home late, pretending you had an argument. I’m sure it felt real. Ann doesn’t do anything half-assed from what I can tell. And I’m talking from experience.”

“Ha… the Cleopatra party?”

“Sometimes I can still feel that branch whipping my ass. But that’s another story for another day. My point remains… by making everything so real, she’s upset that she might have brought up painful memories for you. She’s scared shitless right now. That’s why she called me. She doesn’t know what to do. She’s afraid she’s hurt you, because she promised herself she would never to be like your ex.”

Neil felt his heart open up. If it were possible for him to love his wife more than he already did, it happened. He actually imagined just that, the scene from a classic children’s Christmas special coming to mind; the Grinch’s heart growing three sizes that day. And it was all because of the loving free-spirit of his adventurous wife.

And that was the crux of it all. He knew she was acting. He knew she had an incredible imagination. And just like Jason and his love of how Felicia acted for him, Neil encouraged his wife to explore what they both loved sexually. Yet in the midst of doing something creative and exciting, she suddenly checked herself, nervous that she’d somehow created a monster she couldn’t control.

“What she needs to do is call me, and tell me where and when I’m supposed to meet her today.”

“Are you serious?”

“My cock is throbbing right now, Felicia. Like I said, this is kind of hot.”

“So, you’re not upset about this?”

“I’m upset that she’s upset. But I love that she is, if you know what I mean.”

“I think so.”

“Look, to be honest, my ex-wife never came into my mind until you brought her up. And while I get why Ann would worry, please tell her not to… if you can. I don’t want to ruin what we’re doing, because it’s fun. So, if you can find a way to let her know that I love her more now, because she cared enough to put on the brakes and check my feelings, I’d appreciate it. If you can’t, I guess I’ll have to call her myself, but we both know that will change what we’re doing. It will probably put an end to it, to be honest. And if that happens, that’s fine. I’m sure we’ll find another way to connect. But it would really be a shame that my ex would find a way to fuck with my life again after all these years. It’s been a long time since that happened. I’m over it. But I’m so thankful she was a real slut, because if she hadn’t been, I wouldn’t have Ann in my life… acting like one for me now.”

Felicia was crying, his words bringing her emotions to the surface. “That was beautiful Neil. You’re so much like Jason it’s not funny.”

His chuckle brought a smile. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“Trust me, it is.”

“Says the woman that fucks around on her husband,” he teased.

She knew why he’d said that, a playful reminder that she’d put Ann up to the game they were playing. “You should talk. I think your wife is doing the same thing.”

“Not if she doesn’t make a phone call pretty quick. I’m getting to the point I’m going to have to jack off.”

“I’ll call her right now.”

“Thanks Felicia. And thanks for being such a great friend.”

“Tell me that after we get this all smoothed over, sweetie.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“I… I st… still can’t believe he’s not mad at me,” Ann sighed. She’d finally stopped crying, but her voice was still catching from the torture she’d put herself through

Mary Ann continued to hold her, slowly petting her hair. “Well believe it, Anna. You’ve married an incredible man that loves you very much. You should have known he wasn’t going to be upset with you.”

“I… I just can’t believe I never thought of it before.”

“But it’s fine now. You need to calm down, or you’re not going to be any good to him at all. That would make this all worthless, now wouldn’t it?”

“You’re right. I’m just kicking myself for being so careless. I’m better than that. I’ve tried so hard not to ever do anything that would make him think of her.”

“You’ve been married over five years, honey. I think you’re safe.”

“You would think. But then I go and make up a damn thing where I’m acting just like she did, just to get my jollies.”

“Your jollies?” she laughed. “Listen to you. You were thinking about sex. That’s what this house does to us!”

They were in the break room of Henrietta’s House; what used to be the kitchen in the old house that was the home to the brothel run by Mary Ann’s Great Grandmother. Mary Ann was consoling etimesgut escort her friend, much like Henrietta, or Grandmother Bonnie after her, would have done with one of their girls when an encounter with a client somehow went bad.

“I suppose you’re right. I just hate that I didn’t think it through better. What if he had gotten upset? What if it did bring back all of those painful memories?”

“Then you would have dealt with it Anna. Just like you always do. Head on, talking it through, finding the love you have for one another. That’s the thing here that you can’t forget. His ex-wife didn’t love him. She never did. You know that.”

“They were married, Mary Ann. Of course she loved him.”

“No she didn’t. Trust me, I know. I come from a long line of women that have dealt with infidelity. My family made their living off of it for years. While there were a lot of men that came here that were single, or divorced or widowed… the fact is most of them were married.”

“What are you saying? That every married man that came here didn’t love their wife?”

“No. Most of them did, actually. What I’m saying is that I can tell the difference.”

“How can you tell she didn’t love him? You’ve never even met her.”

“I don’t have to meet Neil’s ex to know she never loved him. I’ve met Neil. That tells me all I need to know. You can’t be with a man like him and not love him. And from what you’ve told me, you’re missing the overriding factor in their relationship. She was bulimic. How can you possibly love someone else if you don’t even love who and what you see staring back at you in the mirror every morrning?”

“Wow. I never thought of it like that. He tried to save her by getting her help, and she went right back to doing it.”

“Eating disorders are powerful, sweetie. I don’t think that most people really understand that. That’s one of the reasons we work so hard here to find ways to make every woman feel beautiful in the bedroom just the way they are. You shouldn’t have to kill yourself to feel wanted by the man you love. And society really doesn’t do women any favors with the way we’re portrayed that we have to look.”

“You’re right.”

“You know, the funny thing is, one of the most successful women that ever worked here was a big buxom lady named Alexandria. She was anything but a classic beauty. She had nice features, mind you, and a very pretty face. But she wasn’t ever going to be on a modern magazine cover. Anyway, to look at her through society’s eyes, you would think she wouldn’t be anyone’s ideal partner in bed, especially if they were paying for it. But that woman loved life, because she loved herself.”

“I take it she loved her job too.”

“She loved men. And from the stories Grandma Bonnie would tell once I was old enough to hear them, Alexandria was a whore in bed in more ways than one. She loved sex… everything about it. Yet she had a way of making every man she was with feel like he was the most incredible lover in the world. And she did it all in a size sixteen dress, when she bothered to wear one.”

“And yet I couldn’t wait to get my body back the way I wanted after I had Owen,” she sighed.

“True. But you did it through healthy eating and exercise. You didn’t starve yourself, or binge yourself and then… well, you know. Look, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look fabulous, but there’s a right way to do it. And to be honest, you’re not the skinny thing you were before. You weigh more now than before the baby came… but you’re curvier. You actually look better.”

“Thanks. I actually feel better now.”

Mary Ann continued to stroke Ann’s hair, the two bonding in the old kitchen. “I’m so glad. And we’ve gotten off track. My point in all of this was that Neil loves you, and you love Neil. And while it’s incredible that you’re so worried about dredging up bad memories, what’s more incredible is that you were doing something so wonderful and imaginative to begin with. You weren’t pretending to be his ex-wife, or even acting like it. You were channeling what you said your friend did… what’s her name again?”

“Billie. She’s like my California mom.”

“That’s right. Billie. And Billie was simply taking an opportunity to tease her husband with his job. In a way, that’s exactly what you’re doing.”

“How do you figure that?”

“Isn’t that a part of what this is all about… the ‘let’s fuck in the van whenever and wherever we want’ thing you’re doing. It’s more about Neil’s job and the ridiculous schedule he works than anything else. You’re not using Felicia’s lifestyle. You’re using Billie’s adventure as the inspiration, and the van is literally the vehicle you’re using to execute one of your own. It’s classic Anna from where I’m sitting.”

“Then why do I feel so bad?”

“Because you don’t want to hurt the one you love, sweetie.”

“I don’t. I also don’t know what I should do right now.”

“If you’re going to do this, you should really call him. It’s going to take him twenty minutes to get there.”

“I want to. But I don’t know what to do when I get there.”

“You’re going to do the same thing you did before. You’re going to act like you’re having an affair because that’s the game you’re playing.”
